Martin Music CD to Honor Hard Working Truckers

Leland’ Martin’s “Workin’ Class” CD to be named in honor of custom rig by the same name, inspired by and owned by Colin Stuart of Offset System Service Corp. (custom painting on the truck by Colin Stuart).

Leland Martin never knows where the inspiration will come from when he’s writing music. A perfect example is how his latest music CD to be released later this year, Workin’ Class, came about.

“I was at the Iowa 80 truck show this past July and was approached by a guy named Colin Stuart,” Martin says. “He told me that he knew I was popular with the truckers and that he had seen my CD’s in the truck stops nationwide. Colin asked if I would let him take a picture of me, in his show truck –  a big ol’ Peterbilt all decked out and tricked out with beautiful murals of horses on the sides of the trailer. The name of his truck is ‘Working Class.”

The truck’s name and Stuart’s love of his profession struck a chord with Martin.

“Meeting Colin and seeing his truck inspired me so much that I knew right away I had to write a song for the drivers out there. So many folks apparently think truckers have no class or feelings. How wrong they are.” (Note:  all artwork/painting on Colin's truck painted by Colin Stuart.)

Martin has been around truckers all of his life and spent some time behind the wheel himself. Writing music that is about–and appeals to–truckers comes easily for the Missouri native.

“After returning home from Iowa, I went in the studio and recorded the new song to add to my collection toward the next CD,” says Martin.

” I sent a copy of it to Colin. He could not believe it! I told him I like the song so much that I’m going to name my next CD  ‘Workin’ Class‘ and I want his truck on the front cover  with me”  [SCROLL DOWN FOR VIDEO, MORE]
